Wolfsburg striker Max Kruse has received a ticking off from his manager - over his unhealthy addiction for chocolate spread Nutella. Continue
The 27-year-old striker was called before Dieter Hecking and sporting director Klaus Allofs during the Bundesliga club’s winter training camp in Portugal and told to lay off the sugar-rich treat at breakfast.
The revelations, in German newspaper Bild, compound an already-bad week for Kruse, who was fined £20,000 by the club for accidentally leaving £60,000 in poker winnings in the back of a Berlin taxi.
A serving of Nutella contains 200 calories and 12 grams of fat, equivalent to 18 per cent of the recommended daily allowance.
