Former PSG goalie Nicolas Douchez arrested for Domestic Violence

Former Paris Saint-Germain stopper Nicolas Douchez has been arrested after police found his partner crying and bleeding in an apartment.

Officers were let into the flat by the woman, 28, and described the Lens keeper as "on edge, wide-eyed and smelling strongly of alcohol."

They took Douchez, 37, into custody as a female officer stayed with his partner.

A source told Le Parisien: "He slaughtered his girlfriend. He grabbed her by the hair and hit her head on the wall and the floor.

"The condition of the apartment gives a glimpse of the violence.

"Broken woodwork, broken mirror, destroyed drawers, overturned stool, broken glass and broken dishes on the floor, traces of blood on the walls and on the floor."

Police were called to the Paris flat at 5.30 this morning to deal with the incident which began last night in a restaurant.

It was reportedly fuelled by alcohol and a bout of jealousy from the footballer.

Officers were reluctant to break down the door but were let in by Douchez's partner and entered the devastated apartment to find the stopper the living room.

A statement from Lens read: "RC Lens learned of the facts written in the press relating to the arrest of Nicolas Douchez. The club cannot comment on events that, if they are true, would have occurred in a strictly private setting."

A representative for the player could not be reached for comment.
