Terry claimed that he would always entertain the views of former England teammates Gary Nevile, Jamie Carragher and Rio Ferdinand.
However he delivered a shocking blow to Savage, questioning what the former Blackburn midfielder ever achieved during his playing days and whether his opinion was even valid.
And now the former Blackburn player has responded to Terry’s jibe via social media by casually thanking the former England skipper for the name check.

It’s been described by many as a cool, calm and collected response from the BT sport pundit, when many were expecting Savage to unleash a tirade of abuse on Terry and his under-performing teammates.
Terry had used the press conference prior to the Kyiv game to defend Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea players and their form so far this season.
And while Savage’s response may have edged on the tame side, you can be sure if Chelsea lose against the Ukrainians, the 41-year-old will have an absolute field day…
